PDF to image
Half the internet will not accept a PDF
Marketplace listings, chat apps, slide decks, social posts. All of them take an image and none of them take a document.
Turn a page into an imageRuns in your browser
So the page has to become a picture. The operation is simple and the only real decision is which format, which depends entirely on what is on the page.
JPG or PNG
JPG for photographs
A page that is mostly a photograph compresses well and nobody notices the loss.
PNG for text, lines and tables
Compression that suits a photograph puts a faint halo around sharp edges. On a page of small type that halo is the difference between crisp and slightly grubby.
When in doubt on a document page, choose PNG. The file is larger and the text stays clean, which is usually the reason the page is being sent at all.
What runs here
- Turns JPG and PNG into PDF, and a PDF into JPG, PNG or plain text
- Runs the page tools entirely in your browser: those files are never uploaded
And the trade
- Let you download the result without a subscription — running the tool is open to everyone, the download is not
